This movie is directed by T.Prakash Rao and stars Balraj Sahni- Raakesh Roshan- Bharathi- Om Prakash and released in 1970.
Shankarnath(Balraj Sahni) is an honest government employee and Sadhuram(Om Prakash) is a corrupt employee. Shankarnath has three children, has a low income and cannot fulfil his children’s demands and they go on a hunger strike. Shankarnath decides that he will give his salary to his elder son (Rakesh Roshan) to run the household expenses for six months. The son thinks he can save money and spends recklessly in gambling and buying things for him and his siblings, until his relatives visit them during Diwali , his mother falls seriously ill and they are in need of money and the money that he had kept aside is also stolen and that’s when it dawns upon him that raising a family is not easy for his father on a single income and how much sacrifices he is doing as a parent to give the best to his children and that he is trying his best to fulfil the demands of a growing family.
