Ashfaque, played by Ajay Devgn is a struggling actor who is trying hard to find a foothold in the industry and become a superstar. He thus manages to join a street theater company by Sidhu, where he can show his acting skills to the world. He works hard and sinks his teeth into every small character role he gets. His hard work pays off when he gets an offer to join films. Slowly he begins to climb the ladder of success and becomes a well known star with the name Sameer Khan. His personality changes drastically with his success and he forgets where he started from.
Sameer Khan starts becoming a different person and also engages in corrupt practices. One day he happens to witness the murder of a well known actress Rashmi Shahani and is unable to decide weather he should report the crime or not. Since he realizes that most influential people as well as celebrities are staying away from the controversy, he decides to keep quiet as well. He loses respect from his wife Sneha who eloped falling in love with him and going against her own parents. She feels like she doesn’t know this new person that Ashfaque has become.
The movie is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Abdol Samee Siddiqui. The music is composed by Sukhwinder Singh.
