"Kick" is a 2023 Tamil romantic comedy film written and directed by Prashant Raj. Produced by Naveen Raj under the banner Fortune Films, the movie is a remake of the director's Kannada film Zoom (2016), which itself was inspired by the Hollywood classic Lover Come Back (1961). The film stars Santhanam as Santhosh, Tanya Hope as Shivani, and Brahmanandam as scientist Vaali.

The story revolves around "Santhosh", a young and ambitious advertisement director, who finds himself in an unexpectedly strong position to take over a global corporation. He assumes the role of the fake son of the CEO of the company, in order to do so. Amidst these situations of battling angry investors and saving his advertising agency, he also tries to win over the woman he's in love with- Shivani. However, his attempts to conceal his real identity give rise to a chain of comical and messy situations.

Santhanam is in fine form, bringing out the humor in the way he speaks. Tanya Hope plays her role quite well. The movie largely banks on the comedic aspect, but the unoriginal script and hackneyed jokes mar its otherwise bright prospect. Although the premise sounds good, it doesn't live up to an entertaining experience in terms of delivery.

"Kick" was released in 2023, specifically for light romantic comedy movie enthusiasts. While Kick has flaws, it provides ample laughter and fun, and anyone's movie list wouldn't go amiss by having Kick on the list.

"Kick" is now available for streaming on Disney Hotstar for viewers who wish to have some fun with a breezy movie, even if it won't be memorable with the top ones of 2023.
