Kingston

“Kingston” is a Tamil horror fantasy movie directed by Kamal Prakash under Parallel Universe Pictures and Zee Studios. The film features G.V. Prakash Kumar in the main role, and it is his 25th film as a hero. Divyabharathi, Elango Kumaravel, Sabumon Abdusamad, Antony, and Chetan are cast along with him in important roles. The movie will hit the theatres on March 7, 2025.

The story is about “Kingston”, a fearless fisherman of the coastal village of Thoovathur in Thoothukudi. The sea is the lifeline of the village, but a section of the coastline has been marked off-limits ever since a spine-chilling dark mystery: fishing vessels sailing into these waters never return. People say the ocean is cursed, and some speak about something much more sinister hidden below its waves.

Kingston, also referred to as King, is an employee of Thomas, a ruthless smuggler who operates an illicit business in the area. Kingston thinks he is smuggling sea cucumbers, but when he learns the reality: that he has been transporting drugs without knowing it he makes up his mind to escape. In a bid to escape Thomas's grip, Kingston sails into the prohibited waters, determined to disprove the so-called curse as mere fantasy.

But as he travels deeper, he finds that the rumors are true; no one ever returns for a reason. Unusual noises reverberate across the waves, unseen forces pull at his boat, and darkness beneath the water portend something ancient and evil. As Kingston finds out the ghastly secrets buried beneath the waters, he will need to struggle not only to survive but also to learn the truth about the curse that has shadowed his people for centuries.

G.V. Prakash Kumar not only acts in the central role but also scores the film's haunting, creepy music, adding to the sense of terror and intrigue. With a gripping blend of fantasy, horror, and adventure, “Kingston” guarantees a chilling cinematic experience, introducing a new and terrifying story to Tamil cinema.
