When the former Prime Minister of India Mrs. Indira Gandhi was brutally murdered by her Sikh bodygurads, everyone started seeing the Sikh’s with suspicion and anger. Some of the innocent ones were interrogated in hash ways and tortured. Without any substantial witnesses and evidence the cops were forced to carry out a brutal investigation. More people started to sympathize with the extremists and joined the fight against the oppressive regime. One family is put under tremendous pressure when the cops come looking for Jimmy. They take his brother Jassi for questioning and he returns several days later wounded and bleeding. His sister Veerandra is devastated and her boyfriend Kripal vows revenge.
The movie is directed by Gulzar and produced by R V Pandit. The music is composed by Vishal and the lyrics are written by Gulzar. The cinematography is by Manmohan Singh and the choreography is by Madhav Kishan. The star cast includes Chandrachur Singh, Tabbu, Kanwaljeet, Om Puri, Jimmy Shergil, Kanwaljit Singh, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Raj Joshi, Ravi Gosai, Sunil Sinha,Navneender Behl, Banwari Taneja, S M Zaheer, Devendra Malhotra and Amrik Gill.
