Manitharil Ithanai Nirangala is a drama film by the director R. C. Sakthi. Features Kamal Haasan, Sridevi, Sathyapriya and Murali Mohan. The film is about Santha, a young orphan wrongly labelled due to a misunderstanding, who tries to rebuild her life in a village. Love, judgment, and hidden truths challenge her path, but she finally finds peace and acceptance.
Santha is a young woman who lost her parents and moved to Madras to find a job and live on her own. Unfortunately, a bad man tricks her, and the police wrongly accuse her of being a bad woman. Feeling hurt, Santha goes back to her village and stays with her old friend Devaki and Devaki’s husband Velu, who is tough but kind. Santha enjoys the peaceful village life, but her past soon troubles her again. The village station-master, Mohan, falls in love with Santha. She is scared to accept his love because of what happened before.
To make things worse, the police officer who arrested her in the city is now working in her village. Also, Mohan’s father once saw Santha in a difficult situation and judged her. Santha learns Mohan’s father is an inspector and tries to stop their marriage by telling everyone the truth about her past. But Mohan’s father doesn’t stop the wedding. On the wedding night, when Santha refuses to be close to Mohan, he says she fooled him. She angrily replies that it was Mohan’s father who lied by hiding her story. Mohan confronts his father, who admits Santha’s past but says she is honest and deserving. Mohan finally embraces Santha, she at last feels free and glad.
Manitharil Ithanai Nirangala examines the complex levels of human decision-making, forgiveness and acceptance in an emotionally grounded drama. The movie provides a thought-provoking experience by tackling sensitive subjects with realism, and compassion. It is silently strong because of its sensitive depiction of internal conflict, social prejudice and individual development. With heartfelt moments, strong emotional undercurrents and the film leaves a lasting impression through its sincerity and emotional depth.
