Manmarziyaan is a family court drama of a husband and wife also termed as a romantic comedy in a love triangle. The film is directed by Anurag Kashyap and story written by Kanika Dhillon. Starring as the husband and wife are Abhishek Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal as the lead stars . The film is jointly produced by Aanand L. Rai’s Colour Yellow Productions and Phantom Films. A love story that is filmed and set in Amritsar, Punjab and was released in September 2018.
The story begins with Rumi ( Taapsee Pannu) and Vicky ( Vicky Kaushal) in love and are caught by her parents and with the parental pressure they force her to get married. Vicky backs out leaving Rumi nervous . She agrees to the man her parents choose for her, the mature and responsible banker, Robbie ( Abhishek Bachchan). But one night before her marriage, Vicky turns up at her door , and she falls for Vicky and refuses to marry Abhishek Bachchan. Comedy of errors is what the film is about .. However, the next day Rumi is married to Robbie. .
Vicky and Rumi start their love relationship again and she ends up sleeping with Vicky. . Robbie realizes his wife had cheated on him but also confesses that he is in love with her but she deserves the man she is in love with … Rumi by then has realized that Vicky was never meant to be a husband material and she meets Robbie in the court and is forgiven by her husband and they reconcile to being the man and the wife and the story ends with a happy ending.
