“Nanban Oruvan Vantha Piragu” is a Tamil coming-of-age friend drama film directed by Ananth Ram in his directorial debut. It is produced by Masala Popcorn and White Feather. The film features Ananth and Bhavani Sre playing lead roles.

Anand's life is narrated by him to a fellow passenger in a flight to Chennai. He was born in 1992 and resides in Anandam Colony, gaining friends and foes along the way. His stage fright encounter at a school event turns out to be a turning point in his life, shaping his own struggle with self-confidence. Though he is interested in media, his father makes him finish engineering before he can chase his dreams.

Anand finds a job in Sri Muthulakshmi Engineering College, where he befriends his classmate Kannamma. After graduation, he and his group of friends take up NOVP Events to continue staying together by starting a business in event planning. Financial reversals and false starts lead to most of them abandoning the venture. Anand remains alone, facing family pressures and personal insecurities. Having been motivated by his father, Anand leaves for Singapore for improved opportunities.

Back in Singapore, Anand rekindles his friendship with his past nemesis Lalith and finishes the Become a Star app. Kannamma's family plans her wedding, putting pressure on their relationship. Anand learns his first true loss when his friend Azhagar passes away, causing him to reassess his priorities. Even when a multinational corporation is willing to purchase his app, Anand turns it down and decides to go back home and restore NOVP Events.

Upon return to Chennai, Anand gets back together with his friends and manages to arrange their Annual Colony Event. Although the film captures friendship, ambition, and failure, the pacing and emotional gravity are at times erratic. However, “Nanban Oruvan Vantha Piragu” conveys a very sincere message about resilience, believing in oneself, and the importance of genuine friendships.
