“Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam” is a romantic comedy film by Dhanush, with Pavish, Anikha Surendran, Priya Prakash Varrier, Mathew Thomas, and Rabiya Khatoon playing pivotal roles. The movie traces love, heartbreak, and fate with the life of a passionate cook, Prabhu.
“Prabhu” (Pavish) is still struggling to move on from his ex-girlfriend, “Nila” (Anikha Surendran), a year after their painful breakup. His parents arrange a marriage prospect with Preethi (Priya Prakash Varrier), his childhood friend, and during their meetings, Prabhu shares his past love story with her.
In flashbacks, Prabhu and Nila fall in love with each other, but her father's opposition is the biggest hurdle. When Prabhu finds that Nila's father has cancer, he decides to keep himself away so that she can have more time with her father and never tells her the actual reason. Nila, not knowing the truth, feels cheated and later gets engaged to Arvind, who does not like marriage at first but later develops a change of heart after getting to know her.
Currently, Prabhu gets Nila's wedding invite and, encouraged by Preethi, intends to go to the wedding in Goa. There, wedding planner “Anjali” (Rabiya Khatoon) starts to develop feelings for him. Meanwhile, “Rajesh” (Mathew Thomas) secretly loves his friend Shriya, who has been in a long-term relationship with Ravi. As emotions resurface, Anjali learns of Prabhu's sacrifice and tells Nila the truth. With the realization that her father had agreed to Prabhu even before his death, Nila cancels the engagement.
With her feelings ignored, Prabhu goes on with Preethi, who gets married in a destination wedding. The film takes a lighthearted conclusion as Nila, Arvind, and Anjali set the stage for some new love interest. This is a light-hearted film in its blend of romance, friendships, and jokes and thus it proves to be a great entertainer for romance film buffs.
