Operation Laila is a Tamil movie starring Srikanth, Sidhika Sharma, Iman Annach and Vincent Asokan in prominent roles. It is written and directed by A Venkatesh.“Operation Laila” is a Tamil horror-thriller movie by A. Venkatesh, featuring Srikanth in a double role, along with Sidhika Sharma, Imman Annachi, and Vincent Asokan. The movie revolves around twin brothers “Surya and Ravi”, who have very different lives: while Surya is a sincere police officer, Ravi is a popular drill master at a school. Ravi falls in love with his colleague, “Anjali”, and their peaceful life is disrupted when paranormal phenomena begin to happen in the school.

When strange things begin to happen, Ravi learns of the presence of a vengeful spirit named “Laila”. She explains that she was killed and is now out to revenge herself on those who killed her. As Ravi and Anjali delve deeper into the mystery, they try to find out Laila's history while taking care of the students and themselves. Surya, meanwhile, as an investigator himself, gets to be part of the case too, and there are some unbelievable things revealed about Laila's murderers.

The movie tries to merge elements of horror, mystery, and action but cannot manage a consistent story. Srikanth is cast as both Surya and Ravi, though there isn't much of a distinction between the two. The police scenes come off as exaggerated, while the horror aspects bank on overused cliches. Sidhika Sharma acts her part fine, but the character has no depth to offer. “Operation Laila” could have been an exciting supernatural thriller, but its poor execution and poor development of central characters make it an ignorable film.
