"Pallu Padama Paathukka" (2023) is a Tamil zombie comedy film written and directed by Vijay Varadharaj. Attakathi Dinesh, Sanchita Shetty, and Rajendran play central characters in the movie. The movie incorporates horror, comedy, and science fiction elements as five strangers go into Kunju Thanni forest intending to commit suicide but end up getting entangled in a weird and lethal zombie attack.
Among them is Mahesh, who takes the others further into the woods after they have told their individual reasons for wishing to die. They encounter a mysterious woman named Sathya, who saves them from an unexpected zombie attack. While resting, she drugs them with buns and binds them, revealing that she is studying zombies and how they act. The group soon learns that Sathya's father, Rohit Sharma, is the scientist behind a failed experiment entitled "Project Cthulhu" that was intended to resurrect people from death but accidentally created a zombie virus.
As the gang attempts to survive, they are confronted by a new villain: Adolf Hitler's zombie form brought back to life by Sathya's father. Hitler's zombie hordes kidnap Sathya, assuming that she is his lost wife. With assistance from Gopi, a dubbing artist who had an odd experience with the zombies before, Mahesh and his friends hatch a master plan to save Sathya from Hitler's headquarters.
"Pallu Padama Paathukka" presents a quirky and ambitious effort at mixing zombie horror with Tamil-style comedy. Although the story is riddled with farcical turns and wacky characters, the movie draws power from its random tone and zany humor. Although not to everyone's taste, it provides a new twist in Tamil cinema with its experimental narrative and satire. Aimed at younger audiences, the film serves as a bizarre yet entertaining ride that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
