“Pammal K. Sambandam,” a 2002 Kollywood comedy film by T. S. B. K. Moulee. It stars Kamal Haasan, Simran and Sneha. The movie mostly focuses on Sambandham, who’s diagnosed with a life-threatening injury that requires surgery. During the operation, Dr. Janaki accidentally leaves her wristwatch inside his stomach, leading to a series of unexpected and comedic events.

Pammal Kalyana Sambandham, a stuntman, and Dr. Janaki, a surgeon, can’t stand each other when they meet cute during the elopement of Sambandham’s brother Anand and Janaki’s friend Malathi. Both of them loathe the idea of marriage, which results in clashes between them, most prominently when Janaki has Sambandham arrested. After Anand and Malathi’s marital issues surface, Janaki exploits Malathi’s feelings of betrayal, leading her to contemplate divorce.

In a frenetic chain of circumstances, Sambandham becomes injured, and Janaki is forced to operate on him in an emergency, during which she inadvertently leaves her watch on him. They have a lot of fun, and though Janaki very reluctantly sends them away, she sends them away after recovering her watch, which makes Janaki call it off. After the passing of Sambandham’s grandfather, Janaki comes to understand her love for him but unknowingly urges him to wed another woman, Raji. In a moment of comic relief, both couples run off to marry each other in a police station, saving Sambandham’s grandfather’s lodge, a demand to turn it into an orphanage had been raised by the police.

“Pammal K. Sambandam” is a quintessential, raucous Kollywood affair, starring South superstar Kamal Haasan in a dual role, with plenty of comedy and masala to spare. The film tracks the adventures of stropped stuntman Sambandham and awed surgeon Janaki, who feud over an impending wedding and subsequently become engulfed in a man-eating tale of comedy as she forgets her wristwatch in him during surgical treatment. Through a string of misunderstandings, emotional twists and animal action, the film tackles the complexities of love and ego and the magic of unexpected romance hilariously.
