Police Station Mein Bhoot marks the much-anticipated return of filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma and actor Manoj Bajpayee nearly twenty years after their cult collaboration in Satya. Produced under RGV's banner, the film brings back his signature dark storytelling laced with humour. RGV was among the first directors to redefine Indian horror with films like Raat and Bhoot, and now he's primed for a return to the genre with this horror-comedy. The addition of Manoj Bajpayee makes the project all the more exciting.

The story opens on the heels of a bloody police encounter inside a small-town station as a notorious gang is wiped out. What seems like a major victory is soon enough to turn into a nightmare. Files start to move on their own, cell doors begin to go bump in the night and voices begin to rattle down the corridors. The building that represents law and those who enforce it soon becomes the very cause of disarray as the spirits of those who were executed return for revenge. The officers must face an adversary that can't be shot or arrested.

In the film, Manoj Bajpayee is an insistent inspector who is forced to grapple with both terror and the insanity of trying to keep order. He is accompanied by a bunch of quirky constables, who become a playful, humorous element within the story. A motion video recently released gave viewers a first glimpse into this unsettling world with chilling imagery and sharp dialogue. The short teaser stirred excitement on the internet and gave viewers a taste of tension with jump-scares mixed in with breezy dialogue.

Expected for release in 2026, Police Station Mein Bhoot uniquely combines horror with comedy. It is worth seeing for RGV's boldness to re-enter this genre and to witness the steely performance of Manoj Bajpayee. In addition to great visual imagery, the film has an unusual setting and a fun combination of thrills with a comedic tone for an enjoyable experience in the theatre.
