“Pudhiya Geethai” directed by K. P. Jagan is a supernatural action film. Features Vijay, Ameesha Patel, Meera Jasmine and Kalabhavan. The story follows Sarathy, a brilliant and carefree young man who is unaware that an astrologer has foretold his death at the age of 27c His life takes a dramatic turn when he meets with the powerful and ruthless Reddiyar after a land deal goes sour, leading to a fierce and dangerous conflict.
The film opens with a baby boy, Sarathy, who despite being born with a defect, is prophesized by an astrologer to only live for 27 years. As he faces the child labour system, economic policies, and his own growth age in Chennai, Sarathy matures into a smart, selfless individual who outwardly shines in education and competition while helping his family survive after his father’s untimely deaths fell upon them. His friend Suji is in love with him, but Jo, a friend of Suji’s becomes infatuated with Sarathy.
Sarathy faces off with a crooked industrialist, Reddiyar, defending the underprivileged and whipping up prejudice against him in the process. Sarathy favours Lawrence’s incestuous love for his sister, bringing about her wedding to our protagonist. When Suji finally admits she’s in love, Sarathy admits she is too. On the day of his sister’s wedding, Sarathy ultimately wards off Reddiyar, who, in turn, attempts to murder Sarathy, though Sarathy succumbs to mercy.
After a freak accident puts Sarathy in the ICU, Reddiyar calls on everyone to focus, giving Sarathy the mental strength to pull through his toughest challenge yet. The movie concludes with an inspiring message, demonstrating how a positive mindset can help you push through adversity and come out on top.
