“Rajakili” is a 2024 Tamil drama movie directed by Umapathy Ramaiah and written by Thambi Ramaiah. V House Production-produced film features Thambi Ramaiah, Samuthirakani, and Deepa Shankar.
The narrative revolves around “Murugappa Sendrayar”, a successful businessman and staunch follower of Lord Murugan, who suffers a tragic fall based on betrayal and dishonesty. His wife Deivanai accuses him of cheating, while his interactions with Vallimalar and “Visakashree” (Visaka) further ruin his image. Manipulated by everyone around him; including dishonest officials such as Thamaraiselvi IAS and cunning family members; Sendrayar's riches and fame gradually disintegrate.
During a murder case against Albert, Sendrayar's loyal men are wrongly accused of murdering him. Even though they are innocent, vengeful ACP Sengundran makes sure Sendrayar and his friends are behind bars. Meanwhile, Pazhaniyappan, the son of Sendrayar, gains control of his father's assets but becomes trapped by Thamaraiselvi. In a sudden turn of events, Pazhaniyappan not only refuses to transfer the property but even conspires against his father to be killed lest his scandalous reputation ruin his family's prestige.
Abandoned by his family, Sendrayar flees the hospital with the assistance of a doctor whom he previously helped, to end up homeless and mentally shattered. His former servant, Kadappan, discovers the truth; Albert dies accidentally and Sendrayar is released from prison. ACP Sengundran is disciplined for faking evidence.
Even after being declared innocent, Sendrayar is ostracized by Pazhaniyappan. Anandan, the proprietor of an orphanage, provides him with refuge, while Deivanai, regretful, decides not to remain with their son.
“Rajakili” is a strong story of karma, betrayal, and redemption. It tells us how greed and suspicion can ruin a family, leaving a shattered man who was once enveloped in wealth and status.
