Tamil cinema's family action movie "Ram Lakshman," directed by R. Thyagarajan in 1981. It stars M. N. Nambiar, Kamal Haasan, Sripriya, and Asokan. The movie follows a young man named Ram, who is very close to his elephant friend Lakshman. Ram starts to demonstrate his innocence and reveal the actual killers when he is wrongfully accused of murder and all while shielding the ones he loves.

Ram is raised with his father, DSP Chandrasekar. Lakshman, an elephant he thinks a brother, is his closest buddy and continual sidekick. Growing up together, they develop a strong and unbreakable relationship. Ram starts to fall in love with Meena, the daughter of a rich entrepreneur, one day. She falls for him, too. Ram, meanwhile, is afraid of elephants, his wife and son were killed by one, and he rejects their marriage when he encounters her father. He only agrees to the marriage if Ram does not visit Lakshman. Ram declines, selecting allegiance to Lakshman. Meanwhile, police are looking for a diamond smuggler named Raja who secretly collaborates with Meena's cousin and an employee at her father's company.

Meena's father gives Kumar three days to leave after learning of his crimes. Raja and Kumar then kill him and frame Ram. They call Ram to the home on the pretext of approving the marriage. When Ram arrives with Lakshman, they find Meena's father has passed away. The suspect is his presence at the site and his footprints. His father arrests him, but subsequently, he flees along with Lakshman to discover the truth. Meena discovers Kumar's plan revealed in her father's diary. Kumar abducts Shes, but she gets away and delivers the proof to Ram's father. Ram grabs Kumar and captures him. The cops come and take Raja into custody. Eventually, the truth comes out, Ram is proven innocent and he comes back with Meena, and Lakshman to live joyfully together.

"Ram Lakshman" is notable for its special human-animal connection, captivating plot, and sincere performances. It offers an amusing experience while emphasising principles like friendship, bravery and standing up for what is right, even in the face of false charges and personal loss, combining action, suspense, and emotions.
