"Rama Shama Bhama" is a Kannada comedy-drama directed by Ramesh Aravind, starring Kamal Haasan, Urvashi, Shruthi and Daisy Bopanna. The movie, which stars Randeep Hooda and Kainaat Arora, follows Rama, a married cartoonist, who enters into an affair with Priya. Though Priya knows that Rama is a married man, she is insistent in her romantic pursuit, creating a lot of havoc in Rama’s life.
Caught between his wife and his mistress Priya, Rama tries to balance the two lives. When his best friend Shama finds out about the affair, he goes all out to ensure Rama gets back together with his wife. Collectively they plot creative ways to reunite Rama and his wife and dissolve his clandestine connection to Priya. This charming and complex tale captures their madcap and misadventurous efforts to woo Rama’s husband back home, as well as through a series of romantic cross-cultural confusions, cultural clashes and coming-of-age journeys. Rama’s wife plays a pivotal role in orchestrating this reunion, and she is formidable and full of endurance as she waits for him in this film.
The K. Manju-produced commercial venture has PKH Dass wielding the camera and Nagendra Urs in the editing room. Gurukiran provides the score, which brings a lively musical exuberance consistent throughout that matches the film’s playful earthy tone and helps elevate the climax even more. "Rama Shama Bhaama" is a remake of the 1995 Tamil movie "Sathi Leelavathi", which itself was based on the 1989 film "She Devil".
"Rama Shama Bhama" is a fun, feel-good comedy-drama exploring the nuances of relationships, mistrust, and forgiveness. Comedy runs throughout all of Haasan’s performances, but here it’s Ayya’s charm and sophistication with comedy that draws you into the world of Rama. Their fantastic supporting cast brings both heart and humour in equal measure, further enriching this adventurous tale. With a swift-moving story and smart-sardonic script, the film should both entertain and satisfy anyone partially raised on funny yet poignant family dramas. It deftly mixes serious themes with humour, creating a film that is not only an entertaining watch but one that carries an important message.
