Ranga

"Ranga," is an action movie from 1982, directed by R. Thyagarajan. Stars Rajinikanth, Radhika, K. R. Vijaya, and Raveendran. The story focuses on the character Ranga, who is a good man, who plans to abduct a young boy, and Raju, a thief who has gone straight, but inadvertently prevents Ranga from stopping him. It quickly escalates from there, and when each man discovers secrets from their history, it complicates things.

Ranganathan, a young graduate, comes to the city looking for a good job. He meets Raju, a thief, and they share advice. Ranga tells Raju to stop stealing and be honest, while Raju tells Ranga to try crime. Later, their lives change oppositely: Raju becomes honest, and Ranga becomes a hired hitman. Meanwhile, Ranga’s long-lost sister, Laksmi, is married and has a son named Suresh. Raju, now reformed, saves Suresh from danger, and Laksmi asks Raju to protect her son.

Ranga is being hired to collect payment from a gang leader, Ravi, but refuses to be part of the gang. Ranga ends up abducting Suresh to make a threat against Laksmi and her husband. Raju later rescues Suresh, unaware that Ranga was the abductor. When Ranga later meets Raju, they uncover the truth, and Raju encourages Ranga to leave a life of crime behind, but Ranga is still set on his plan, that is, until Ravi betrays Ranga by letting him know that Laksmi was his sister. Ranga is ultimately captured by Ravi's men until Raju comes to rescue him. Ravi gets arrested, and Ranga reunites with Laksmi. At the end of the film, the three of them are happy, no longer criminals and looking for new beginnings.

Overall, "Ranga" is an engaging action film whose central messages revolve around friendship, redemption, and family. It contains impressive performances, and it was entertaining to behold the film's adventure and drama in both its twists and emotional aspects of the film. The mix of action with heartfelt characters helped tell a compelling story that showcased the moral dilemma of right/ wrong, and overall, it still had victorious elements for an uplifting ending.
