Nawabzada Aslam lives a lavish lifestyle with his parents and is a well-known poet by the name Raj Lakhnavi. His family is one of the illustrious ones in Lucknow. His close friend Iqbal is the one he trusts and shares his hearts secrets with. One day he meets a beautiful courtesan named Salma and falls helplessly in love with her. Meanwhile Aslam’s parents arrange his marriage with his cousin names Mumtaz. Thus Aslam decides to confront his parents that he is in love with Salma. Hearing this, his father is red with rage and shoots him. Aslam is then hospitalized.
After recovery when Aslam returns, he is devastated to find out that Salma is now seeing his friend Iqbal and has taken a lot of money and jewelry from his mother. Aslam is shocked and furious and decides to marry Mumtaz to teach Salma a lesson. He also pays her money to dance at his wedding. The film is directed and produced by Ramanand Sagar. The music is composed by Bappi Lahiri and the story is by Gulshan Nanda. The star cast includes Raj Babbar, Farooque Sheikh, Salma Agha, Pradeep Kumar and Shoma Anand.
