Sooragan

“Sooragan” is a Tamil crime action thriller film directed by Sathish Geetha Kumar, featuring Karthikeyan, Subiksha Krishnan, Suresh Chandra Menon, and Pandiarajan. The movie is about a man's tireless quest for justice as he exposes a deadly criminal syndicate connected to a mysterious death.

The story is about “Arjun” (Karthikeyan), a young fellow who is resolute and whose life graph goes awry suddenly when his love “Dhivya” (Subiksha Krishnan) gets murdered under circumstantial circumstances. Disbelieving the official story, Arjun embarks on his own investigation. The more he pursues the investigation, the more he learns about the evil truths of a biased system controlled by powerful VIPs. What initially seems to be a random occurrence turns out to be only one of a much broader criminal conspiracy, and Arjun finds himself soon in over his head against a lot more malevolent forces than he ever could have imagined.

His quest for the truth has him pitted against powerful individuals who will stop at nothing to keep their secrets from being found. Every time Arjun takes a step towards exposing the sordid world of crime and corruption, he finds himself in the sights of brutal, antagonistic forces. The threats build with each revelation and Arjun is put in a heart racing sprint to face time and power. Made of conviction, once Arjun is put through the turbulence to get to Dhivya's truth, he won't just be fighting for it, he will also be fighting to dismantle the nefarious systems that are executed by these oppressive forces.

Though the movie begins on a sluggish note, the second half takes an engrossing turn, holding the audience captivated with action sequences and high-stakes drama. The romance between Arjun and Dhivya lends the film an emotional quotient, providing depth to the protagonist's intent. Karthikeyan proves to be powerful in his role, bringing across Arjun's evolution from an average man into a courageous fighter for justice. Director Sathish Geetha Kumar ratchets up the suspense levels well, “Sooragan” thus becoming an intriguing watch. Backed by fierce action sequences, an emotional substance, and an inspiring message, the movie proves to be a gripping crime thriller.
