Sujata is an Emotional-Romantic Family Tragedy Drama Film crafted with excellence by Bimal Roy. The Story revolves around the life of Sujata (played by Nutan)- A Sweet orphan girl adopted by a Brahmin family- Upendra and Charu- A Kind-Hearted family and raised her with Rama (played by Shashikala)- their daughter with the same care. However, Adhir (played by Sunil Dutt)- A Kind-Hearted man falls in love with Sujata and wants to marry her. Things get complicated- when Charu doesn't want her to marry Adhir- because she is Untouchable and belongs to a lower caster and wants Rama to marry him, leading to consequences.
