Vaa Vaathiyaar is a forthcoming Tamil action comedy film. It has been written and directed by Nalan Kumarasamy. This highly anticipated movie is produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja under the Studio Green banner. The lead roles feature star Karthi as a police officer and actress Krithi Shetty, with strong supporting performances from veterans like Sathyaraj and Rajkiran.

The story has a fun and dramatic premise: an MGR superfan raises his grandson, Karthi’s character Ramu, believing he is the legendary actor reincarnated. As Ramu grows up to be a charismatic police officer, his modern life choices and personality naturally clash with his grandfather’s high expectations and MGR-inspired ideals.

Vaa Vaathiyaar is set to hit the screens on December 12, 2025. The release of the movie was initially postponed because of unfinished post-production work and some hiccups in planning/finances at the production house. However, the audience is going to be rewarded for their patience with a new and captivating family entertainer filled with action and laughter on the big screen, as it was suggested that the audience would keep expecting such things.
