Warrant is directed by Pramod Chaktravorty in the 1975 released film starring Dev Anand, Zeenat Aman, Pran , Dara Singh , Ajit Khan, Lalita Pawar and Joginder.
The film has a backdrop of a Jail riot which is instigated by the jailer Jaggu (Joginder) .Arun Mehra(Dev Anand) and another convict Dinesh(Satish Kaul) whose life is at risk and their lives being threatened. Dinesh risks his life to save Arun and his mother Mrs. Mehra (Sulochana). Dinesh is already sentenced to death for killing the well known Professor Ashok Verma. Arun does not believe that Dinesh is the killer and wants to reach out to the real culprit, therefore helps Dinesh escape from the Jail. By doing so he falls under his own trap not only from the Police but also his own father who is the Inspector General of Police (Pran) who are after him . The story doesn’t end there as the underworld Don(Ajit ) is also after him . The cold hearted assassin essayed by Zeenat Aman has to decide whom to shower the bullet on, whether it is Dinesh or Arun
