Actor Abhay Deol recently shared that he found it very tricky to cope with fame after the release of Dev.D in 2009.

 This film was a modern adaptation of Devdas which brought him a major recognition in the industry, but the sudden spotlight left him overwhelmed and surprised 

In a blunt revelation, Abhay admitted that he "ran away" from Mumbai during that time, as he deeply struggled to deal with the fame and recognition. "I was finding it very tricky to deal with the stardom and fame because I got flashbacks of me being a sensitive child who didn't favour the attention but had always embraced my art and creativity" he confessed while recalling the times when he tried to escape the unwanted burdens of success and travelled to New York from Mumbai which was a quick and short escape.
