Essaying the role of a courageous soldier who gave up his life fighting for the country is a great responsibility. Lead actor Adivi Sesh who will be doing just that in the upcoming film Major, paid his last respects to the slain soldier on 26/11, the day that marks the tragedy that took place in Mumbai. He will be playing the role of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan. The memorial is built at the Taj Mahal Hotel. It was decorated with flowers and garlands in remembrance of the day. 

 

Adivi posted pictures from his visit to the Taj on his social media page and captioned it, “At the #mumbaipolice memorial for the #martyrs of 26/11.” Major is a Telugu film which has been in the works for some time now and will finally release in 2022. Earlier Adivi had shared pictures of Major Sandeep and written, “we gather to remember #majorsandeepunnikrishnan In his final resting place. To think, reflect and pray. So, the team and I will sit with uncle & aunty for this tribute. A tribute to #Major and all the brave heroes who fought for our country on that dark day.” 

 

Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan was the team commander of 51 Special Action Group that was sent on the mission to tackle terrorists at the Taj Mahal hotel in Mumbai on 26th November 2008. Major is directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka and also stars Sobhita Dhulipala, Saiee Manjrekar, Prakash Raj, among others. It will hit the big screens on 11th February 2022 in Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam.
