Due to the sudden surge of covid cases in the country, several filmmakers are postponing their film’s releases. Adivi Sesh starrer Major is one of them. In an official statement the makers announced the news writing, “Owing to the aggravation of the covid situation and curfew/limitations in most parts of the country, the release of Major stands postponed. We would announce a new release date soon. Please adhere to all covid protocols and stay safe. Our nation isn’t safe, till each one of us is safe.”

 

Major was supposed to release on 11th February 2022. The PAN India film was shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu and will also be released in Malayalam. The film’s first single ‘Hrudayama’ was recently unveiled as part of the film’s promotion. The film will bring the true heroic tale of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan from his childhood to the day he was martyred in the Mumbai terror attacks. It also stars Sobhita Dhulipala, Saiee Manjrekar, Prakash Raj, Revathi, and Murli Sharma. It is produced by Sony Pictures Films India in association with Mahesh Babu's GMB Entertainment and A+S Movies.
