In 2013, the Bollywood film Special 26 starring Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher and others was a huge success. It showed how a group of men who posed at IT officials conduct raids on politicians to loot them of their black money. This idea has now inspired a real-life heist in Hyderabad. A gang of nine men posing as Income Tax officials with fake id cards robbed C Bhagyalaxmi at Nanakramugda on December 13th. They looted 1.28 kg gold and Rs. 2 lakh from her house, while asking her, her three children and driver to sit in the living room while they removed all valuables from the bedroom cupboards.

The Cyderabad police have arrested 5 of the gang members and are on the lookout for the rest. The cops said they were inspired by Neeraj Pandey directed Bollywood film Special 26 and created fake number plates on a car for the heist. The film also starred Manoj Bajpayee, Kajal Aggarwal, Jimmy Sheirgill, Divya Dutta and many others. Akshay meanwhile will next be seen in Anand L Rai’s Raksha Bandhan and later in Ram Setu.
