The film Bhagam Bhag 2 was set for its 25 days schedule to begin on March 2nd has hit an unexpected road block resulting in an abruptly shelving the project following a legal battle between Ekta Kapoor and director Raaj Shaandilyaa.
The much-anticipated sequel starring Akshay Kumar, Manoj Bajpayee, Paresh Rawal has been pushed to the back burner with speculation that the film may resume later. Possibility is that it may recommence with a new director. Meanwhile the dates of Akshay Kumar, Manoj Bajpayee and Paresh Rawal having committed to multiple projects their official dates for Bhagam Bhag 2 have been officially released as the prolonged delay has cast an uncertainty over the sequel going on floor.
The Legal Matter
Sources mentioned Ekta Kapoor has filed a breach of contract against the director Raaj Shaandilyaa quoting a violation of their three-film agreement. The director allegedly moved ahead with not just one but two of the projects outside her banner without securing a NOC (No Objection Certificate) or refunding the advance taken for the pending films under her production house.
A legal notice has been served to Raaj Shaandilyaa and the producer Ashwin Varde and to the Cape of Good Films for stalling the shoot. Facing the legal complications the producers have decided to stall the project until the dispute that resolved. Akshay Kumar wasn’t aware of the legal turmoil until just a few days before the shooting schedules, which has derailed his other projects.
