The ambitious project, a theatrical screening will feature the extraordinary life of Sarkhel Kanhojiraje Angre, the legendary Grand Admiral of the Maratha Navy who had safe guarded India’s Western coastline against the British and the Portuguese forces for over four decades.
The film is directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Rajesh Mapuskar. It will mark as his second collaboration with the production house after Chiranjeevi Hanuman- The Eternal. The project is being produced by Abundantia Entertainment in association with Mapuskar’s Magij Pictures.
Sarkhel Kanhojiraje Angre was widely regarded as one of India’s greatest naval commanders. He led the formidable fleet from his headquarters at Colaba, fiercely protecting the Konkan coast and reinforcing the Maratha dominance across the Indian Ocean.
The film Angre is inspired by the maritime vision of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Angre remained undefeated through his remarkable career in the Navy and became a symbol of courage, leadership and he is known for his unwavering patriotism that stood against all odds that he had to face.

Directed by Rajesh Mapuskar, he has shared his emotional connection to the project revealing that he grew up in the Konkan coast himself that was once ruled by Angre. Following the success of Daldaal, Subedaar and Maa Behen in 2026, Abundantia Entertainment continues to expand its slate and will soon bring Angre alongside other upcoming titles such as Chiranjeevi Hanuman -The Eternal Netflix’s Family Business and Sundar Poonam on Prime Video.
