Entering politics, Arun Govil, who rose to fame as a result of playing Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar's TV series Ramayana, has embarked on a new phase of his career. The actor, who is quite passionate about his political career, acknowledges that he hasn't made up his mind to give up acting in favour of politics. The actor has been nominated by the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) to run in the 2018 Lok Sabha elections from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. He is currently preoccupied with the city's rallies. 'This marks a new chapter in my career that takes me out of the performing world. And I'm very happy with it. It will be interesting to see how it turns out.'

Smooth Transition into Politics, Says Arun Govil Amidst Rallies:

Arun Govil informs us. 'So far, the transition into this world has been smooth for me,' the 66-year-old adds continues. It is going incredibly nicely. The party staffers are taking care of other matters while I am busy organising rallies throughout the city. Thus, I don't find it to be that stressful. He says that public welfare is the main reason he decided to pursue this line of work. 'My decision to enter politics has been a sudden one,' he declares. I was also offered a ticket previously, but I declined it at the time as I didn't plan to go.

I trusted my instincts and took it this time. The actor continues to express his opinions by saying, "Serving the public is the only motivation. I have been utilising Ramadan to practise it both spiritually and culturally. But unlike what I'll do now, it wasn't one-to-one. Beyond the realm of politics, several photos he took on the set of Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, featuring Dashrath, went viral recently. He admits that he doesn't have time to look at them, though. 'I enjoyed working with Nitesh on the movie, but I haven't seen the pictures that went viral.'

'There are several portions left, and I will aim for them soon," he says, adding, "I can't say anything about it at this moment. “Will he combine his acting career with his political career, or have you decided to give up performing? It depends on how everything works out for me, though. I haven't made a decision or given it much thought. Having said that, I shall honour my previous agreements. In addition, there are additional projects that I need to finish up. 'I'll wrap them up and then make a decision regarding the future,' he says.
