The popular Bengali actor Rahul Banerjee passed away after it was reported, he fell into the sea during the shooting.  

However, the incident occurred after the pack up in the afternoon when Rahul Banerjee entered the deep-sea waters alone after the shoot concluded . Shortly after which he went missing into the deep-sea prompting panic among the television production crew members who witnessed the mishap unfold before their eyes.  

The technicians and the television production members present at the location at that time had managed to pull him out of the waters and he was immediately placed in a vehicle and rushed to the hospital at Digha which is about 10 to 12 kilometers from Talsari Beach . The doctors  at the hospital declared him dead and the cause of death was drowning.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed her grief stating it just can’t make sense how this could happen. He was one of her favorite actors and a wonderful person.  She further extended her heartfelt condolences to his bereaved family, his loved one and his numerous admirers. Rahul Banerjee’s wife actress Priyanka Sarkar took to Instagram to share her official statement. 

His wife Priyanka Sarkar wrote an official statement on her Instagram handle, sharing her immense grief and expressed it’s a deep despair for them and in these difficult times she sincerely requested their space and privacy. She further wrote that, there is a child, a mother, a family and his loved ones who are trying to navigate this loss together and therefore urged the friends’ colleagues in the media to respect the boundaries and to refrain from any kind of disturbance or interference and to allow the family to grieve in dignity and peace.  

She asked for their understanding and support more at this time.

Currently the body of Rahul Banerjee lies at the Digha Medical and the authorities are coordinating with Digha Police to gather further information about the incident . While fans on the social media have expressed their grief over their favorite actor Rahul’s death. He was one of the few people in the Bengali film industry who has been adored by the people.

Rest in Peace Rahul Arunoday Banerjee. It is indeed a shocking news for all. Rahul Banerjee is survived by his son and his actor wife Priyanka Sarkar. Banerjee was 43. The actor had travelled for the shooting of the Bengali serial, Bhole Baba Par Karega and the television series was underway before his accidental drowning at Talsari In Digha near Odisha West Bengal border on Sunday .
