Earlier, the veteran lyricist and writer Javed Akhtar had made a claim that Dharmendra rejected the film 'Zanjeer,' due to which Amitabh Bachchan ended up taking the lead role.
Bobby Deol Recalls A Core Memory
In an interview with Instant Bollywood, Bobby Deol revealed the exact reason behind his father giving up on the film. While recalling the core Memory about Zanjeer from his childhood, he said, ' When Zanjeer was offered, Dad wanted to do it, but we had a cousin sister who somehow had some disputes with Prakash Mehra, and one day, she came to our house and said, 'I put a swear on you; if you take up this film, you will end up seeing my dead body.' So this was the reason due to why my dad sacrificed the role in the film Zanjeer.

It is scheduled to be released theatrically on 9th May, 2025. Also, he has another project in his lineup titled 'Alpha,' in which he'll share the screen with Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh. This film is scheduled to be released in the month of December.
