The Indian Army has launched 'Dil Maange More', a short film festival aimed at empowering young filmmakers from Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh. Dil Maange More Short Film Festival (DMMSFF) is an initiative of the Northern Command of the Indian Army. On Saturday's opening day of the festival, officials said masterclasses were conducted by award-winning and renowned filmmakers such as Imtiaz Ali and Rahul Mittra.

Major General S S Patil, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 71-Sub Region said, "The first 'Dil Maange More' short film festival organized by the Northern Command opened to an overwhelming response in Udhampur by the youth of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. " Curated by Captain Rahul Bali, the month-long festival is being organized in association with Innovation India. Major General Patil said that the Indian Army is steadfast in its endeavor of nation-building and provides all possible help to the youth of J&K and Ladakh for their growth and development.

According to officials, the participants will be required to make short films of 5-15 minutes duration on the given subjects and submit their entries online by December 10. The festival will conclude on December 16, 2022 at Udhampur. The top three winners will be awarded cash prizes, trophies, and merit certificates by the Indian Army. Ali, Mitra, and Shukla will also guide them. Festival curator Captain Rahul Bali said that the objective of the film festival is to empower the youth of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. We look forward to introducing the talented youth to the world and developing a lot of synergies for their holistic development."
