Actor Irrfan Khan needs no introduction, be it in Hindi cinema or internationally. His work speaks for his greatness and his achievements. The world lost a noble and talented soul with the actor’s passing in April 2020. The actor’s several fans were left to mourn. Filmmakers like Anup Singh were in the hopes of working with the actor. Singh said that Khan was excited about playing the role of Krishna’s Radha in his upcoming film.

Irrfan was to play the role of Gulal who was born near Vrindavan and loved to dance on Janmashtami. He would take inspiration from legendary Bollywood actress Waheeda Rehman. Khan also suggested that his eyebrows be shaped just like Waheeda’s for his role as Gulal who loved to dress up as a woman. Sadly the role never materialised as the actor was hospitalised and knew he wouldn’t be able to live long enough to take up the role.

Anup also mentioned that he wanted Irrfan to play a role in his biopic on Bulleh Shah. Khan was to essay the role of Punjabi Sufi poet’s teacher, Shah Inayat. Apart from these two films, the Qissa director was also toying with the idea of Khan essaying the role of Mahabharata’s Duryodhana.
