Nitanshi gained major recognition with her debut film, ‘Laapataa Ladies.’ Its cast includes Sparsh Shrivastava, Pratibha Ranta, Ravi Kishan and Chhaya Kadam. The movie was made under the direction of Kiran Rao. Its plot is about the two young newlywed brides who get exchanged during a train ride to their husbands' homes.

The film was India's official entry for the Oscars 2025. Although it missed the final shortlist, the movie earned massive appreciation and positive feedback from the critics and the audience.
