Within the industry circles, with Hooda’s last minute exit created a buzz in the film circles. Randeep Hooda was slated to play an antagonist in the film and had even begun the initial preparations for character. 

The actor backed out due to personal commitments and the shoot of the film was scheduled around the same time.

Besides Jaat’s release scheduled there was an important health concerns involving his wife. He prioritised his family matter over his professional obligations. Hence Hooda had justified himself for taking a step back from the project.

Interestingly, there has been an earlier strong speculations that Randeep Hooda that his role was being inspired by Dawood the kingpin. However, his stepping back effectively put a stop to the rumours and put to rest. Fans are now left guessing that his character may be recast by another prominent actor. The makers of O Romeo have not issued any official statement to this development as yet.
