The upcoming Marathi thriller film Adrushya will star actors Pushkar Jog and Manjari Fadnnis. Now Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh has joined the cast of the film to play a pivotal character. The film is directed by Kabir Lal who previously worked with Riteish in the latter’s debut Bollywood film Tujhe Meri Kasam, where the former was a cinematographer for it. Recalling his experience the ‘Lai Bhaari’ actor said, “Kabir Lal is the reason I am in films. He had seen me on a Subhash Ghai film’s set where I had just gone to see the shoot. Maybe he thought that I wanted to be an actor, although I had nothing in mind about getting into films then. So, when Tujhe Meri Kasam (TMK) was being made, he recommended me for the film. He was the cinematographer for the film which launched my career.”

Adrushya is apparently an adaptation of the Spanish film ‘Julia’s Eyes’. The film also features Saurabh Gokhale and Ajay Kumar Singh. Riteish will next be seen in another Marathi film as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to be helmed by Nagraj Manjule.
