Sharmila Tagore will be attending a special screening at this year’s Cannes Film Festival 2025. The veteran actress will be present at the screening of the film’s restored version. The makers have restored the film to 4K resolution.

As per a news reported by India TV, the organisers had shared an update on Thursday that the film starring Sharmila Tagore will be shown in Cannes under the Classics section.

Sharmila Shares Her Experience
While addressing the film’s screening, the actress said, ‘It’s a very fond moment that Manik Da's (Satyajit Ray) Aranayer Din Ratri has been restored, and we’ll have a world premiere at this year’s edition of the Cannes Film Festival. Sharmila Tagore recalled her old memories. She said, ‘I remember I was shooting for the film Aradhana when Manik Da approached me to shoot for the film for a month. The climate during the shoot was very hot, due to which we could shoot only in the morning and late afternoon. Also, I have unforgettable memories of the times spent with my co-actors. Manik Da’s accuracy, especially the way he had shot the memory game sequence, was quite unbelievable.
