The film will have its world premiere of the fully restored, uncut version at the II Cinema Ritrovato Festival in Bologna, Italy. They scheduled the film’s screening for 27th June at the Piazza Maggiore.

As per a report by Hindustan Times, the film ‘Sholay’, originally released in 1975, became the fan favourite in Indian cinema. Ramesh Sippy directed the film, and Jaya Bhaduri, Hema Malini, and Amjad Khan featured in its cast. Later, the film went on to become a cultural phenomenon. The film’s restored version is the result of a three-year collaboration between the Film Heritage Foundation and Sippy Films Pvt., Ltd. This collaboration now allows viewers to see. The film’s original ending and previously missing deleted scenes from the widely premiered versions.




They completed the restoration project using rare materials from film archives in Mumbai and London. Experts in Italy, with support from the British Film Institute, created the film’s final version. Moreover, the film will premiere in a 2:2:1 aspect ratio, featuring restored sound and visuals.
