Known to have backed some of the most well known films of Bollywood like Ajnabee starring Akshay Kumar, Veer starring Salman Khan and many more, Vijay Galani passed away yesterday In London. The producer had flown to UK 3 months ago for his cancer treatment as he was diagnosed with blood cancer. Bollywood producer Ramesh Turani paid his respects on social media writing, “Very unfortunate and sadding to know our dear friend Vijay Gallani passed away.. May his soul rest in peace.. deepest condolences to his family and friends.. Om Shanti.”

 

Galani began film production with the 1992 film Suryavanshi starring Salman Khan and Amrita Singh. He also backed Ajnabee starring Kareena Kapoor and Veer starring Mithun and Salman Khan. His last project as a producer was ‘The Power' directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, starring Vidyut Jammwal, Shruti Haasan, Zakir Hussain, Prateik Babbar, Sachin Khedekar and Jisshu Sengupta which streamed on Zee5 in January 2021. He was in his late 50’s and is survived by his wife, son and daughter.
