Netflix launched the trailer of the upcoming hilarious comedy starring Yami Gautam and Pratik Gandhi in lead roles.

Actors Yami Gautam Dhar and Pratik Gandhi, Director Rishab Seth, and Producers Aditya Dhar and Lokesh Dhar were present at the launch.

Yami Gautam nails the comedy genre in Dhoom Dhaam called her comeback film, responding to the media Yami said, " I don't feel I ever left and I have always been working. It is not like a comeback film for me. Still, a very special film, as we all believe we have created something new and authentic which is a fun popcorn entertainment caper comedy that your family can watch. I don't have any reference to give as it's a very unique film. I'm glad that you liked the trailer. You are going to enjoy the Film."

Yami Adds, 'I'm happy to have had this brilliant opportunity to make me perform such a fantastic character, while there are very few female characters written for comedy roles which are performance oriented. Pratik Gandhi is something you have never seen in an avatar, and also Rishabh who has a very good grip on the comedy has done brilliantly. The film was shot at night, and it was a roller coaster ride and we had great fun shooting it."

How easy was it to attempt a comedy, Yami shared, "It's not easy for me and I feel very nervous when I take up new roles and even in Koyal I was very nervous. I think that nervous energy helps you to do your best and experiment with what new you can do to help the character shine. To look effortless on screen it takes a lot of effort and homework. Especially the roles which you can't relate to in real life, finding its soul and owning it up and convincing yourself that I am this person, is not easy."

Prateek showed light on what made him take up the character and accept the film," It was a very different role and a very different comedy, this character is very close to many real-life characters who look something and behave like something else when they come in an awkward situation, that's when their actual character comes out. The film explores both me and Yami with a lot of such layers in the characters."

Director Rishabh Seth threw light on the music of the film he was initially sceptical and argued with Aditya Dhar on using some old tracks in the film,' When the songs 'Kay sera sera' and 'Laal dupatte wali' looked so good with the scenes I took my words back and looking at the response to the trailer we are glad that the trailer is landing for everyone."

The trailer shows Yami as a flamboyant girl with dialogues like 'mummy sister ho jayegi', which Yami actually picked from a real-life character. Aditya Dhar talking about writing quirky and hilarious dialogues in the film said, "While writing dialogues is fun when you experiment to create something new in the language and come up with one-liners never heard before which is quite a challenge. I got a lot of help from my co-writer and Rishabh. We were also clear that the dialogues should be colloquial, jo aam zabaan mein use hote ho. Giving them a unique flavour was the idea. There is a Yami's monologue that you will watch after the release, which is a three-page dialogue that Yami gave in the first take. "

How close is Koyal of Dhoom Dhaam to Geet of 'Jab we met', as both look very flamboyant in the trailer, Yami replied," Well that was an iconic character and Koyal has its nuances."

Yami adds by giving references to her inspirations in comedy, saying," Of course I am a big fan of Srideviji's comic timing, while she was very calm in demeanour, but to watch her on-screen in film alike Chaalbaaz, Mr India and Sadma she brought that spark and was simply out of the world. I feel more comic characters should be written for female actors. I think writers have to be given the due respect and so I thank Aditya and Arsh for writing such a role for me."

Aditya talking about how close Yami is in real life to the character Koyal who looks very dominating in the trailer says," Whatever roles Yami has played till now, I don't think she is close to anyone in real life. She is one of the most simple, sweet, docile, caring and loving girls, but in most of her recent films be it Bala, Article 370, or Dhoom Dhaam, she is close to non and that's what challenges her and in Dhoom Dhaam, I can say she has hit it out of the park."

Yami Gautam married Aditya Dhar on June 4, 2021, so was it a Dhoom Dhaam Marriage in real, Aditya Dhar replied, “We did a lot of Dhoom Dhaam in our marriage as well. It was very unique. Only 12 people were present! We always wanted a low-key marriage. Moreover, COVID was going on at that time. A lot of people messaged me saying, " aap ki jaisi shaadi hum bhi karna chahte hai.”

Produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, Dhoom Dhaam releases on Netflix on February 14.
