Sushmita Sen

After she completed her reign as the Miss Universe she started her career in Bollywood with the film Dastak and rose to stardom with the Tamil Musical Hit film Ratchagan starring opposite Nagarjuna. She later got recognition for her role in the Hindi film Sirf Tum in 1999. She became an Actress soon after she had won the Beauty title across the Universe and went on to do roles in the film Biwi No.1 for which she has won an award in the supporting role. She was also nominated for her roles in the films Sirf Tum and Fiza in which she tried to create a niche for herself in the Indian Film cinema. Sushmita Sen has acted in several other films that did commercially very well and were considered to be successful. Some of them were Aankhen in 2002, and Main Hoon Na in 2004, which was her biggest commercial success to date. Followed by Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya in 2005, She received critical acclaim for her female-oriented roles that she played in the films Filhaal in 2002, Samay in 2003, Chingaari in 2005, Zindaggi Rocks in 2006, Aag in 2007 and a few others. The film Main Hoon Na the film grossed Rs. 330,000,000 and was the second best-selling film of that year Followed by her role as a lawyer in the film Main Aisa Hi Hoon opposite Ajay Devgn in 2005 which received acclaim from her fans and audience alike. In 2010 Sushmita played the role of a successful supermodel called Shimmer in Dulha Mil Gaya. the film did moderately well at the Box office that year.
