How Sweety became Anushka Shetty Few are aware that Anushka Shetty’s real name is Sweety Shetty. When she was born she was so sweet and cute that she was named Sweety. But when she joined cinema, she felt embarrassed people addressing her Sweety hence she changed her name to Anushka Shetty. Anushka claims she had hard time selecting her screen name. She bought a kids name book and selected Anushka after hours of going through the name list but alas when Anushka had finalized her name she found another actress by the same name making it big in Bollywood – yes you have guessed it right Anushka Sharma! But Anushka Shetty made her debut in 2005 with Telugu film Super, while Anushka Sharma made her debut in Bollywood in 2008 in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. Though everybody calls Anushka Shetty by her screen name, only filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli calls her with her original name as he is close to her and her mentor. Her commitment and dedication made her ‘Star’ Actress Though Anushuka Shetty’s debut film Super was a flop but her next film Vikramarkudu directed by SS Rajamouli won her recognition and fame. After this she never looked back. Her dedication, commitment and her intelligence in choosing her roles took her to dizzy heights in South film industry.
