Ranbir Kapoor who recently welcomed his first
child with wife Alia Bhatt has no doubt carved a niche in the film industry
with his power packed performance over the years. Lets take a look at some of
his best performances.
Ranbir Kapoor who had joined as the chocolate
faced hero in Rocket Singh :Salesman of the year in 2009 . The film directed by
Shimit Aman had no-frills, a comedy film that followed the journey of a
salesman. The film had great reviews for his performance as an average student
who had a gifted mind to set up his own business !! The film did not do well
financially at the box office.
Followed by his first film he was Sid in a
film that was a coming of age drama in the film Wake Up Sid released in 2009
with the talented dusky Konkona Sen Sharma directed by Ayan Mukherji . While
not a powerful role , but it appealed to youngsters as it portrayed the
struggle a youngster goes through to grow up and figure out themselves.
Rockstar was his film released in 2011 in
which he essays as a rock star singer Janardhan aka Jordan and is seen with his
trademark long hair and ruffled looks and is in a self destruction mode after a
heartbreak that didn’t go well with him emotionally. Ranbir brought his character alive in this
Imtiaz Ali directed film. Co starring with him was Nargis Fakhri and this film amidst
his others is considered as one of Ranbir’s best works till date.
Barfi released in 2012 was a subdued film that
does not show a disability as a burden. Ranbir in this film had convinced his fans and audience as the young
deaf and mute lovable Barfi with childlike innocence with his infectious warmth
and the energy of living life to the fullest even with his disabilities An inspiring film shot in the picturesque
Darjeeling the film is directed by Anurag Basu. The film follows the journey of
two women in his life, Jhilmil aka Priyanka Chopra and Shruti essayed by IleanaD’Cruz.
The biographical film Sanju released in 2018 was
based on Sanjay Dutt had lot of controversy when director Rajkumar Hirani
showcased Ranbir Kapoor as Sanjay Dutt. The film is biopic on the controversial life, right from his drug abuse
to the TADA arrest, Ranbir Kapoor did full justice to the role as he put in so
much life into the role that the there was a very little line between the
reality and the screen fiction that faded with his performance that the
audience could actually visualize Sanjay Dutt on screen.
