Prabha is brought up in a rich household by her widowed father Jasbir. She accepts the marriage proposal of equally wealthy Rajendra and moves into their palatial home where his mother Amba and brother Suraj too stay. Rajendra has some vices like visiting courtesans and drinking. One day on a drinking frenzy he comes home and rapes and kills his family servant’s daughter. When Amba returns home after watching a play Ram Leela, she hears from her servant of what happened and is mighty furious. Not only dies she get her own son arrested but also testifies against him. Rajesh is hanged to death. Prabha is now heartbroken and vengeful for her mother-in-law for doing what she did. She along with her brother and father, make Suraj and Amba’s life a living hell.
The film is directed and produced by Mohan Kumar. The music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal and the cinematography is by K K Mahajan. The star cast includes Anil Kapoor, Shabana Azmim,Meenakshi Sheshadri, Kiran Juneja,Satish Shah and Dulari.
