Kisan Baburao Hazare a.k.a Anna, played by Shashank Udapurkar is born in Bhingar town of Ahmedabad. He is born into poverty and is the eldest among 6 other siblings. They live a very merger life where his father is an unskilled labourer. A relative takes him to Mumbai to study as there are no primary schools in their town. At 20 something Anna joins the armed forces; initially as a truck driver and later as a soldier.
During the 1965 Indo-Pak war Anna was the lone survivor. The war and the immense poverty he had seen affected him deeply. He decided to dedicate his life to serving people. He read the works of Swami Vivekanand, Gandhi and Vinoba Bhave and was greatly inspired. Since then he has brought about colossal change in the Indian system and fought for many causes. He alone brought about a huge change and a considerable stop to corruption in the country.
The movie is written and directed by Shashank Udapurkar. The music is composed by Ravindra Jain and the singers include Udit Narayan, Mika Singh and Divya Kumar. The star cast includes Shashank Udapurkar, Govind Namdeo, Tanishaa Mukerji, Rajit Kapur, Sharat Saxena and Kishor Kadam.
