Assuming their relationship is normal, rumours go around. Meanwhile, Sudhakaran, Chandran's pupil, is wrongly charged with stealing Chandran's watch.
Police beat him, and he died after being released. The real thief is caught, leaving Chandran remorseful. Rajis receives money from him, but she declines. Babu's family visits Raji in his room. They wrongly believe she is a prostitute; hence, Babu cancels Radha's engagement. Heavy drinker Jayan dies, telling Babu not to desert Raji, underlining her genuine love. Raji is then gang-raped, but Chandran saves her, earning her forgiveness. Babu's mother believes in his innocence and, learning of Raji's past and Babu's love, accepts Raji.
