Babu is a simple and hard working man who pulls hand drawn rickshaws for a living. One night he helps a wealthy man named Shankerlal. In return, the man invites him home and gives him food, clothes and affection. Shankarlal’s wife, and daughter Pinky too show him respect. Babu is emotional at being given so much respect and love as he had been brought up in tough conditions. Meanwhile Babu falls in love with a woman named Kammo and before he could confess his love, he comes to know that she has been raped. He then kills the man in fury and lands himself in jail. On his release, Babu finds Pinky begging on the streets and comes to know that her mother is now a widow. He works hard and takes care of Pinky and her mother. Soon Pinky grows up but dislikes Babu. Her mother however, is very aware and feels indebted for all the help Babu has given them. The film is directed by A C Trilogchander and produced by V R Parameshwaram. The star cast includes Rajesh Khanna, Deepak Parasar, Hema Malini, Rati Agnihotri, Madan Puri, Paintal, Navin Nischol, Om Shivpuri and Geeta.
