“Hero” is a 2019 Tamil superhero film directed by P. S. Mithran. It stars Sivakarthikeyan, Arjun Sarja, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Ivana, and Abhay Deol. This is a story of Sakthi, a man who once had a dream to be a superhero but lost hope after ridicule in childhood.
“Sakthi” is an adult who, with his friend Ink, sells false certificates so that people get their false academic qualification. He meets Mathi, a clever girl who invented a running engine made of saltwater. The college does not admit her. Sakthi tries to help her, but the corrupt businessman Mahadev doesn't allow Sakthi and Mathi gets convicted for patent fraud and finally commits fatal suicide.
Convinced that Sakthi would turn out to be that light, Sakthi discovers all the dark secrets of Mahadev. Mahadev takes the innovations from the students, rubs out their memories and sells them to profit. Sathyamoorthy-the masked vigilante rescues Sakthi and approaches Sakthi with a secret school for gifted students wherein he trains him to fight Mahadev.
With high-tech gadgets and Sathyamoorthy’s training, Sakthi adopts the Mask identity and battles Mahadev’s forces. After an intense fight, Mahadev is defeated, and Sakthi broadcasts a message urging parents to support their children's dreams. Sakthi’s father realizes his mistake, finally accepting his son’s choices.
Six months later, Sakthi carries out Sathyamoorthy's cause by operating a school for young innovators. A policeman is inspired by the actions of Sakthi, and secretly drops his charges to let him stay as a vigilante. Sathyamoorthy is seen at the end as alive and is still guiding Sakthi for justice.
“Hero” is a film that everyone needs to watch in order to hear a great message about education, innovation, and following one's dreams.
