Harbans and Ranjit are two wealthy and successful businessmen. Their respective children Madhu and Ajay are very dear to them. In order for their children to not make a mistake and marry someone lower than their status, they decide to get them married to each other. However as fate may have it, Madhu falls in love with Raja, who is an ordinary poor mechanic, while Ajay falls for middle class brought up Kajal. They are madly in love with them and decide to get married soon. When their fathers hear this, they are infuriated and decide to trick them into signing marriage documents, where they are considered married.

 

However the certificates are then torn up by them. Harbans and Ranjit however, do not give up so easily, and decide to try new ways to break the bind they share. They thus create misunderstandings between the two couples and they break up. True love however always finds its way. The movie is directed by Indra Kumar and produced by Gordhan Tanwani. The music is composed by Anu Malik and the lyrics are written by Anu Malik, Dev Kohli, Javed Akhtar and Rahat Indori. The story is written by Naushir Khatau, Rajeev Kaul and Praful Parekh. The cinematography is by Baba Azmi. The star cast includes Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgan, Kajol, Juhi Chawla, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Johnny Lever, Deepak Shrike, Tiku Talsania, Mohan Joshi, Sunil Darshan, Razak Khan, Anant Mahadevan, Sunil Dhawan, Kamal Deep, Deven Verma, Veeru Krishna, Brij Gopal and Shweta Menon.
